When it comes to breeding cattle dogs, there are several things that we strive to produce. Our dogs are all AKC registered and have pedigrees that are backed with a long line of working dogs. We want our dogs to be conformationally correct , in order to be a sound working dog for it's whole working life. We want our dogs to be disease free, in order to live a long and healthy life. Just as importantly, we want our dogs to have a strong and natural ability to work stock. We expect our dogs to be serious about their job, but to also be great family members. We want to provide you with that Stellar cattle dog that you have always wanted!
All of our puppies are AKC registered, current on vaccinations and worming, BAER tested, and evaluated on livestock.
Australian cattle dogs have a few genetic diseases that are known to the breed. Luckily, there are genetic tests available and we are able to test all of our breeding dogs to ensure that our dogs are free of those issues and will not pass them on. We test our dogs for:
BAER- Brainstem Auditory Evoked Response (All puppies leave having already completed the test)
prcdPRA- cells degenerate and die in the retina causing early onset blindnes
PLL- Primary Lense Luxation- Disentigration of the fibers that hold the lense in place, causing it to luxate or subluxate
PennHIP- A series of radiographs are submitted and measured to ensure our dogs are free of hip dysplacia
